FIRST
Well done to the Bo’ness ASC swimmers Liam Murphy & Ellie Hamilton who represented Scotland at the recent Dave McCullagh International Meet in Belfast. This was an amazing achievement from both of them, and they had some great swims. Liam managed a fantastic swim in 200m Breaststroke and achieving his goal of qualifying for the April British Olympic Trials.
Did you know that Christian from the FIRST coaching team comes every 3 weeks to coach the Gold Squad on Tuesdays? He provides this service to all of the three partner swim clubs within FIRST.

FVJL
Well done to Team Bo’ness at the FVJL on 16th Feb. 15 out of the 37 races we were too fast in which is excellent for the swimmers, and 16 1st places as well. It was a fantastic afternoon of swimming. Congratulations to our first time swimmers who did so well. Thanks to the swimmers, coaches, timekeepers, marshals and parents for your support, without which we wouldn’t be able to do these events.
Date for the next FVJL is 14th June. We have had to pull out of the one on 22nd March due to a clash with other Swim Meets that our swimmers are involved in.
Membership
A warm welcome to our new club members; Ashleigh Stewart, Jamie Sutcliff, Mark Stirling and Lois Yearsley. Good luck and enjoy your swimming.
Congratulations Mary Rose who moved up from Improvers to Bronze this month. Well done!

A special thank you also to Ally Black who organised the meet manager technical part of this at short notice and processed all the results. There were some great swims had by all. Especially well done to those who were swimming some of those events for the first time.

Committee Update
Thank you to all of those parents who have volunteered to help support the club, this is fantastic. However, there are still plenty of roles still to be filled so please come forward if you can provide any help. WE NEED YOUR HELP.
The President and Committee would like to say a huge thank you to those committee members who have recently stepped down from their roles for the commitment and dedication they provided to both the Club and Swimmers.
- STO – Sandra Knight is passing the reigns over to Valentina Lawless
- Treasurer – Laura Arbuckle is stepping down after 4 years – position is still vacant
- Vice President – Mark Beetham is stepping down – position is still vacant
- FVJL – Simon Arbuckle is stepping down – position is still vacant
- Competitions Secretary – Jacqueline Smith is stepping down and Ally Black will pick this up as well as his Meet Manager role.
- Team Managers – Udi Tiran and Lindsay McGrow have volunteered and there is still space for others to take on this role as well.
Andy MacGuire from Scottish Swimming held a session with the committee to discuss and review our current SwiMark status. He is very pleased with where the club is and we should achieve not only our SwiMark status but we are aiming to obtain SwiMark Plus status too.
AGM Date
The next AGM for the Club is planned for Thursday 23rd April at 6pm, Bo’ness Rec.
It would be great to have as many parents there as possible.
