Congratulations to Gold squad swimmers Liam Murphy, Alicia Evans and Douglas Calder upon securing Scottish National Age Group Championship 2016 times!

This is a significant achievement for the swimmers in their journey towards swimming excellence! Liam Murphy (11) has managed to secure times in the 50m Fly, 200m BR, 50m BR and 100m BR; similarly Alicia Evans (11) has achieved times in the 50m and 100m BR events; with Douglas Calder (10) making the consideration time for the 50m BR.

The swimmers are three of six BASC athletes who achieved qualification times at the recently held FIRST Inter-Club Time Trial on Sunday 21st February. Niamh Tierney (12), Kirstyn Calder (13) and Rachel Christie (12) also managed to set new PB’s and consideration/qualification times.

Keir Edgar (14) and Jemma Brown (17) have also achieved consideration/ qualification times in a number of events for April’s event.

Commenting upon the success of the swimmers, Head Coach Ross Stephen stated that: ‘This is a great achievement for the individual swimmers who have worked hard to meet the national times. In addition, it further illustrates the Club’s commitment to developing competitive swimmers to a National standard on an annual basis.’

Coaches and Committee also wish to thank those involved in organizing the FIRST Inter-Club time trial which provided an excellent opportunity for swimmers to achieve accredited times, both for the Nationals and for entry to future competitions.
