Young Leader Squad Programme
Scottish Swimming is organizing a Young Leader Squad programme in the West District. Hazel Glen sent out an email to all parents at the end of January with the details. The aim of the programme is to look at the retention of young swimmers as there continues to be a clear drop off at age 12.
Each club can nominate 2 participants aged between 13-16 years to attend. Each of these young leaders will attend a two night residential training camp 6th- 8th March 2020.

How can you help and support the club?
The swim club, like lots of clubs can’t function without people volunteering to help with the running of it. We are looking for more volunteers to help support the club and take on a role or share a role either within the committee, or as part of the coaching team or as part of the technical officials roles.
In the committee we are looking for a Communications Officer, Competition Secretary Assistant, Fundraising Coordinator, Team Managers for various parts of the club (open water, younger squads, FVJL, and the older squads), Treasurer and Vice President.
Technical Officials are always welcomed this ranges from timekeeping to Judge roles. Valentina Lawless is our new Swimming Technical Official Coordinator and she would welcome interest from parents in the club.
