BASC warmly welcomes Keir Edgar who has recently joined the BASC and FIRST teams from Carnegie. Keir has been swimming competitively for a few years now and has been having a very successful season within his current age group (13/14 years).

Keir recently swam for FIRST at the Scottish Short Championships at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh, Dec 11th – 13th. The whole FIRST team put in some great performances over what was a very competitive weekend. This event saw many Olympians, Commonwealth Games swimmers and Rio 2016 hopefuls competing in events over three days. With warm-up’s starting at 07:30 and the last race at 20:00, it’s a intensely competitive meet.

This was Keir’s first year attending the Scottish Short Course and has made the transition into the FIRST squad very comfortably, setting new PB’s in every event except one where he was bang on his previous time. Keir also set 2 new West District records for his 50m and 200m Backstroke times. He also led off the FIRST team in the 4 x 50m Medley Relay which won the Scottish Junior title. A exceptional result for his first time at the event.

Well done Keir and welcome to BASC & FIRST!
