Back to water - September update

Thank you for your patience and support.  We wanted to give you an update of where we are in terms of getting us Back to the Water. This is the position as far as we know but the announcement by the Government today may change some of this, we will let you know when we know more.

  • It is likely that Bo’ness Recreation Centre will open at the end of September but as yet we have no firm confirmation on this.
  • In addition to Bo’ness Rec opening, Grangemouth Sports Complex will also open at the end of September.  The Mariner Centre is opening from 14th September.
  • We are working with Grangemouth, Falkirk and First Swim Clubs to help each other get a fair share of time in the pools that are opening.
  • We have a fabulous team of parents and carers who have stepped forward to offer support and become Covid Liaison Officers – ensuring that a swim session can happen and that it is safe.  If you haven’t offered help but would like to there is always space for more, so please complete this form if you can help.
  • The number of training sessions available to us is yet to be determined as we are waiting on information from Falkirk Community Trust.  It is more than likely that the sessions we have for everyone will be reduced in number until school pools are opened up for lets.  The date for school lets is still unclear but we are hoping for late October.
  • Before anyone can start training there are a couple of forms that you will need to complete, a health screening form and a self-declaration form.  These will be sent out soon in preparation.
  • We will also produce a walk-through of the new procedures and share this with you all.

We are so looking forward to welcoming you all back.  It will be exciting to be back in the pool.  Thank you once again for your support.

Many thanks,

Bo’ness ASC Committee
