Bo’ness ASC NewsletterAguast 2021

Hello everyone.  I hope that you are all well.  It is exciting to be moving to a near normal situation, albeit that we are not quite there yet.

We, in the Committee just wanted to provide you with updates from the Club so far.

Pool Time

We have had a late communication from Falkirk Council that they will not be starting School Lets as term starts.  The reason behind this is that they want to understand how the new term and procedures in schools will affect how they operate lets.  This is extremely frustrating for us all but it is understandable that they want to make sure that the new procedures and guidance that they have is working.  It is also extremely short notice for us as it came 6 days before school term started.

However, we are working hard to secure extra time for swimmers at the Rec and they have been very supportive.  So please bear with us as the timetable for swimming is yet again adjusted.

The schedule will always be available on the website

New Procedures

As of Monday 9th August, there are new guidelines in place from Scottish Swimming.  We are currently working to update our procedures to align with these changes.  However, there are several things that we need to update and ensure that our venues agree with before we can change our current processes.  We will continue to operate at the higher level of guidance that we have in place until we are sure that everything is in place to reduce some of our procedures.  Whilst this may be frustrating in the short term, we as a Club, would rather that we were able to ensure everyone’s safety.  We will keep you up to date of all the changes as and when they happen.  Many thanks for your patience.

Bake Off
A message from our Swimmer Representatives

Winner: Isla Paton, ‘Swimming in Victoria Sponge’

Well done to all the contestants in the Club Bake Off Challenge, all of them could have won in their own way.  But we would like to say a particular well done to Isla Paton, who won with her incredible looking ‘Swimming in Victoria Sponge’ cake.  We look forward to doing more fun activities with the swimmers.

Club Volunteers

A huge thank you once again to all our club volunteers, Coaches, Lifeguards, Covid Officers and Committee Members.

We couldn’t run without you!
