Development Pathway

Upon completion of a successful trial, swimmers will be allocated a suggested path dependant upon their age, stage and past swimming experience.

In most cases, swimmers trial at the club following completion of a Learn to Swim programme and therefore are ready to move into our Developers Squad. As they progress they will move up the squads to Improvers, Bronze, Silver and finally Gold. As the squads progress the demands of training and competition increase.

Movement through the squads is carried out via our lead coaches. Each child’s progression is different and therefore this is done on an individual basis. Our coaches consider a range of factors when making these decisions.

Alternatively, there are opportunities outside of the competitive club for late teens and for adults in our platinum and masters squads.

They do however train alongside our Gold and Silver squads and therefore have access to swim sets and coaching support should they need or want it. Platinum has 4 training sessions throughout the week.

Masters

Masters is our adult squad. It is made up mostly of ex-club swimmers, parents, coaches and locals from within Bo’ness, Falkirk and Linlithgow.
This squad is led primarily from its members due to being made up of a range of fitness levels. In order to join the squad you must be fairly competent in all 4 strokes.
