About

BASC is a competitive swimming club located in Bo’ness, Central Scotland. The club is a SwiMark accredited member of the Scottish Amateur Swimming Association and a founder member of the Falkirk Integrated Regional Swim Team (FIRST).

We are committed to developing swimmers into skilled, competitive athletes who enjoy a challenge and seek to achieve their potential in the sport. With an experienced coaching team and supportive management committee, we are focused on creating a positive learning environment where all members can thrive to become confident swimmers and happy individuals.

Our programme offers quality coaching for enthusiastic swimmers who have completed Scottish Swimming LTS (Learn to Swim) programme. Upon joining the club, new starts will begin in our Developer squad. Swimmers will then progress, at their own pace, through the club’s comprehensive development pathway. Should swimmers progress to Scottish National Age Group Championship level, they may be invited to join the FIRST partnership programme, whilst remaining as fully fledged club members.

The FIRST programme is a partnership between BASC, Falkirk Otter ASC, Grangemouth ASC, Scottish Swimming and Falkirk Community Trust. Its aim is to provide a competitive training environment where the best swimmers of partner clubs can develop into performance swimmers, whilst remaining in the local area.

Although competitive swimming is the club’s priority, it is not its only consideration. The club also provides a Masters Squad and a Platinum Squad for teenage and adult swimmers who no longer wish to continue to compete regularly and simply wish to remain fit and healthy through regular swimming.

Within the last two years, BASC has undergone significant structural remodeling, in addition to engaging in a programme of coach development and rebranding. Within this period, the club has developed a reputation for preparing swimmers to National level before they make the transition to FIRST. In addition, the club has developed into producing strong regional and club swimmers. If you are looking for a forward-thinking, progressive learning environment for you or your child, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to discussing your requirements further.
